Maryam’s Story: Painting Through Pain

At just 13, Maryam’s world turned upside down when she was diagnosed with cancer. The pain was unbearable—both physically and emotionally. Chemotherapy, surgeries, and the loss of her hair left her broken. But in the midst of it all, Indus Hospital offered her more than just medical care—it gave her hope.

Encouraged by the Psychosocial Department, Maryam turned to painting to express what words couldn’t. Through every stroke, she poured out her strength, sorrow, and dreams. Eventually, she held an exhibition and donated all her earnings to help other children like her. Over 40 paintings later, Maryam is not just healing—she’s helping others heal too.

Today, Maryam continues her treatment at Indus, full of hope and courage. Her art tells the story of a warrior, and her journey reminds us that healing is more than medicine—it’s also heart.
