Indus Al Hasanah & the Role of Women

Embodying the meaning of ‘Hasanah’, women have always upheld Islamic values through fostering the observation of Zakat and Sadaqah within their families; helping make Pakistan one of the most charitable nations in the world. However, many patients remain without access to healthcare – especially women and children. With 53% of our patients being women and 26% of our patients being children under 15, IHHN is helping end this cycle of vulnerability.

The word ‘Hasanah’ means to do good.

And there is no better way than for women to unite and bring the gift of health to the most vulnerable.

Women continue to play a pivotal role in the making of Indus Hospital and taking us forward to become a truly unparalleled institution.

Women’s role in upholding Islamic values through Zakat and Sadaqah has made Pakistan one of the most charitable nations in the world. Despite healthcare progress, women and children remain vulnerable in accessing services.

With almost half the population being female, and contributing over 22% to GDP, we look up to our women to carry on the tradition of generosity in Islam
