IHHN Honors Lifesaving Donors, Partners & Creative Changemakers on World Blood Donor Day 2025
Commemorating the World Blood Donor Day 2025, Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) hosted the Indus Zindagi Blood Donor Recognition Ceremony & 2nd National Video Competition Award Ceremony in Karachi.
Organized under the national initiative of Indus Zindagi, IHHN celebrated the commitment and compassion of corporates, educational institutes, industry partners, individual blood donors for their outstanding support towards IHHN’s mission of voluntary blood donation to save countless lives.
The ceremony also featured the award distribution for winners of the Indus Zindagi National Video Competition 2025, which invited creative entries in the form of short films, animations, and photo stories. Hundreds of submissions from across the country highlighted the life-saving impact of voluntary blood donation. The winners were selected by a distinguished jury comprising Kashif Afridi, Shafaat Ali, and RJ Adeel Azhar, and received certificates and gift hampers.
Speaking on the importance of voluntary blood donation, Dr. Saba Jamal, Senior Director of the Blood Transfusion Services Directorate at IHHN, stated:
“Indus Zindagi is more than a campaign—it is a movement that uses the power of storytelling and civic engagement to reshape the culture of blood donation in Pakistan. Our donors and youth advocates are the true champions of this cause.”
Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal, who attended as Chief Guest, commended IHHN’s efforts, and emphasised that, “Voluntary blood donation is a shared national duty. Recognizing those who support this cause is essential to building a healthier Pakistan.”
In recognition of their invaluable support, awards were presented to outstanding contributors across various categories. Corporate donors honored included Pak Suzuki, Ibex, Emaar, Meezan Bank, Multinet Pakistan Pvt. Ltd., and Automotive Corporation of Pakistan (Autocom). Industrial partners such as Soorty Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Artistic Milliners, Feroze 1888, Salim Winding, and Crescent Steels were acknowledged for their dedicated efforts. Religious institutions including Tanzeem e Islami, Dawat e Islami, Jamia Dar ul Uloom, Jamia Tur Rasheed, Jamia Banuri Town, Masjid e Ali, and Jamia Mahad ul Khalil were also recognized for their significant engagement. Educational institutions including Karachi Grammar School Lifeline, Iqra University, SZABIST, Aptech, PAF-KIET, IBA, FAST NUCES, Cedar School & College, Ziauddin University, Lyceum, and Denning were honored for promoting a culture of blood donation among youth. Additionally, individual donors were recognized for their extraordinary contributions in terms of the number, quantity, and duration of blood donations.
The event was well attended along with the IHHN’s senior leadership.
