From Despair to Recovery: Imran’s Journey of Healing at Indus Hospital
Imran, a 45-year-old man, resides in North Nazimabad, Karachi. His life took a dark turn four years ago when he encountered a life-threatening accident. While riding his bike, a rickshaw collided with him, breaking his leg in the process. Surprisingly, he survived, but his leg left him in agony and despair.
In search of medical help, Imran’s brother took him to a well-known Hospital, Abbasi Shaheed. The experience Imran had at Abbasi Shaheed was sad, and he even described the hospital as a ‘kasai khana,’ meaning a slaughterhouse of neglect. The place where he was enrolling his brother had a dead body, and the hospital was way overcrowded, with hygiene being non-existent. His treatment was appalling, leaving him physically and emotionally scarred.
During the operation, the hospital’s medical team inserted a metal rod that was much larger than his needs, causing further damage to his already fragile leg. Imran had abandoned hope and had to be on bed rest for a grueling two years. His knee joint deteriorated, robbing him of his independence and dreams.
Then, a ray of hope emerged when a relative suggested a recommendation for Indus Hospital. With a small light of hope, Imran’s treatment started instantly. The contrast was remarkable. The care he received was compassionate, and the hospital’s commitment to hygiene was top-notch. Imran began his journey to recovery.
