World Hypertension Day Observed at Dr. Sikandar Ali Mandhro Civil Hospital Badin

BADIN: World Hypertension Day was observed at Dr. Sikandar Ali Mandhro Civil Hospital Badin (managed by Indus Hospital & Health Network) with an Session and awareness walk aimed at educating the public about the dangers of high blood pressure, preventive measures, and the importance of early diagnosis.

On this occasion, Cardiologist Dr. Arshad Ali Khuwaja checked the blood pressure of participants and members of the public and provided detailed awareness regarding the prevention and management of hypertension. Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Arshad Ali Khuwaja said that hypertension is a “silent disease” that can seriously damage human health without obvious symptoms. He stated that unhealthy diet, mental stress, smoking, and lack of physical activity are among the major causes of high blood pressure. He urged people to regularly monitor their blood pressure and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Speaking at the event, Medical Director Professor Dr. Salman Imtiaz said that the purpose of observing World Hypertension Day is to raise awareness among the public regarding the seriousness of hypertension and to help prevent life-threatening complications such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney disorders. He emphasized that precautionary measures, balanced diet, regular exercise, and timely medical checkups are essential for a healthy life.

Dr. Shahnawaz Kareem Mazari, Dr. Seema Zafar, Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed, and Dr. Sanjay Kumar also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of awareness and prevention of hypertension. At the conclusion of the event, an awareness walk was organized in which senior faculty members, doctors, nursing staff, and hospital employees participated enthusiastically. The participants of the walk spread the message of adopting a healthy lifestyle and regularly monitoring blood pressure to prevent hypertension-related complications.
