World Heart Day 2024 at RTEH: A Call to “Use Heart for Action”
World Heart Day 2024 was commemorated at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH) Muzaffargarh with the global theme, “Use Heart for Action.” This powerful message underscores the urgency of raising awareness about heart health and accelerating actions for the prevention, early detection, and management of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). To mark this significant day, RTEH organized an awareness walk, drawing participation from doctors, paramedical staff, and support staff. The walk symbolized the collective commitment to promoting heart health across all levels of healthcare.
Dr. Irfan Javed, Head of Campus, along with other senior faculty members, led the awareness walk. Their active involvement underscored the hospital’s dedication to heart health, echoing the global call for action.
Consultant Dr. Muhammad Zaman, Head of Cardiac Services at RTEH, highlighted the critical importance of using heart for action. He emphasized that “Heart health is everyone’s responsibility. We must collectively focus on healthy lifestyles, timely screenings, and managing risks like high blood pressure and cholesterol to prevent heart diseases.”
In a heartfelt message, Dr. Muhammad Shafqat, Cardiac Surgeon at RTEH, reminded everyone about the personal responsibility of caring for their heart. He shared, “Our heart is at the center of life. Simple steps such as regular exercise, a balanced diet, and routine checkups can make a huge difference in protecting our heart health.”
This year’s World Heart Day at RTEH reinforced the importance of a heart-healthy lifestyle and the role each individual plays in safeguarding their own cardiovascular well-being. The hospital remains committed to advancing awareness and offering quality cardiac care services to the community.
