RTEH Marks World Hand Hygiene Day with Awareness and Action

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Hospital (RTEH) joined the global healthcare community in commemorating World Hand Hygiene Day, reinforcing its commitment to patient safety and infection prevention. The event highlighted the critical importance of hand hygiene as a frontline defense against the spread of infections in healthcare settings.

The awareness campaign was led by Dr. Rashid Kamal, Head of the Infectious Disease Department, who stressed the vital role of clean hands in protecting both patients and healthcare providers. Dr. Shiraz Hassan, Medical Director at RTEH, along with Dr. Sohail Khalid, Consultant, and Mr. Usama Riaz, Manager Administration, were also present to support the initiative and encourage staff participation.

The day’s activities included interactive awareness sessions, practical demonstrations, and detailed explanations of effective hand hygiene techniques. RTEH team members—including Mashkoor Hussain, Sidra Hashim, Hina Zahra, and Shahid Abdullah—played a key role in engaging with patients and visitors, educating them on proper hand hygiene practices and the broader importance of infection control.

This observance not only raised awareness but also reflected RTEH’s proactive approach in fostering a safe and clean environment for everyone within its care.
