Indus Hospital Celebrates Impactful Research in HBV and HCV Testing

Indus Hospital & Health Network is proud to announce a significant milestone in healthcare research, with our expert team contributing to an impactful study published in the Journal of Clinical Virology, Volume 177, April 2025. This research compares the performance and cost-efficiency of two widely used quantitative NAT systems for HBV and HCV: Alinity m and Roche Cobas 6800. The study provides an in-depth analysis of how cost of these systems vary across different volumes and evaluates their ability to meet CAP standards and CLSI guidelines.

Key findings include that Alinity m is more cost-effective for laboratories with lower testing volumes, making it an ideal choice for smaller facilities. On the other hand, Roche Cobas 6800 offers a higher sample throughput, making it better suited for labs with higher testing volumes. Both systems were found to be compliant with CAP standards, providing confidence in their ability to deliver accurate results for HBV and HCV quantification.
