ADB Delegation Visits Indus Hospital & Health Network to Explore Partnerships in Nursing Education and Vaccine Development

A high-level delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) visited Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) on Monday to explore potential collaborations in strengthening healthcare education and advancing vaccine development in Pakistan.

The visiting team included Dr. Eduardo Banzon, Director Health at ADB; Jayati Nigam, Sindh Nursing Project Team Lead at ADB; Mansoor Ali, Senior Project Officer at ADB and Co-Team Lead for the Sindh Nursing Project; Fatima Arshad, Consultant at ADB; and Dr. Ali Shaikh, Consultant at ADB.

They engaged in discussions with IHHN leadership, including Dr. Syed Zafar Zaidi, Chief Executive Officer of IHHN; Dr. Ammad Fahim, Director of the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization; Dr. Saba Jamal, Senior Director of Blood Transfusion Services Directorate and Clinical Laboratories; Dr. Nazia Khursheed, Chair of Pathology; and Hakim Shah, Principal of Indus College of Nursing.

During the visit, the delegation toured IHHN’s New Hospital Building, including the Emergency Department, Clinics, Wards, and the Blood Center, to witness firsthand the scale and impact of the facility’s expansion.

In addition, detailed discussions were held on IHHN’s research capabilities, exploring opportunities to collaborate on vaccine development initiatives aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s healthcare system.

This important visit marked a promising step toward building strategic partnerships to advance healthcare education, research, and innovation across the country.
