Hit For A Cause – IHHN’s Emergency Services Benefit From The Fourth Corporate Cricket Championship 2024 In Islamabad

The Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) is proud to announce the successful completion of its Fourth Corporate Cricket Championship, a thrilling tape-ball tournament held in Islamabad. This exciting annual event saw leading corporates come together to support IHHN’s Emergency and Outpatient Department (OPD) Services, reaffirming their commitment to saving lives through free-of-cost healthcare.

Following the success of two previous championships, IHHN expanded the tournament this year, inviting more corporate teams to participate across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. The cause at the heart of this year’s championship was to bolster IHHN’s life-saving Emergency and OPD Services, which provide critical care to thousands across Pakistan.

Pakistan’s urgent need for stronger emergency healthcare is underscored by the rising rates of acute cardiovascular diseases, road injuries, and strokes—three of the country’s top 10 leading causes of death. At IHHN’s Korangi Campus in Karachi, the 35-bed emergency department serves a population of over 2.5 million people, treating more than 100,000 patients annually.

In this year’s tournament, corporates didn’t just compete for a trophy—they played to make a difference. Their participation directly supports IHHN’s mission to provide timely and essential life-saving treatment for patients in critical conditions.

The high-energy tape-ball tournament followed a knock-out format, with each match consisting of 6-over innings. Held at the National Cricket Club (MCI Cricket Ground) in Islamabad, the event spanned two days and was backed by an impressive lineup of sponsors and participants, including Meezan Bank, Q-Marketing, OGDCL, OBS Bayer, Evamp & Saanga, Jubilee Insurance, Cheezious, and Indus Hospital.

The final match saw OGDCL emerge victorious against Q-Marketing, securing the championship title. Adding to the excitement, a special exhibition match featured two teams of renowned journalists and anchors. Among the notable players were Rehman Azhar (Express News), Shahzad Iqbal (Geo News), Asim Raza (News One), Sammar Abbas (Hum News), and many others from the media fraternity. Senior Anchor and Journalist Kashif Abbasi also came to support the exhibition match, further energizing the event.

The event was well-attended by IHHN leadership, sponsors, and media representatives. GEO Super, FM 91, and Pakistan Observer served as the tournament’s Exclusive Media, Radio, and Digital Partners, respectively.

The Fourth Corporate Cricket Championship not only provided an exciting platform for the corporate community but also strengthened their bond with IHHN’s noble mission of delivering free, quality healthcare to those who need it most. Together, they hit high—saving precious lives in the process.
