Department of Family Medicine at Indus Hospital Leads Health Education Initiatives
The Department of Family Medicine at Indus Hospital and Health Network Korangi campus has successfully conducted a series of public health awareness programs from January to June 2024, aimed at educating the community on critical health issues. These initiatives align with the hospital’s vision of providing “Excellence in healthcare service free for all to please Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.”
The program’s main goals were to educate the public about various diseases, provide accurate information, and encourage proactive healthcare steps. The effort began with bi-monthly sessions in early 2024, led by specialists from the Family Medicine department, and expanded into weekly programs by March, integrating postgraduate trainees, nurses, and paramedical staff.
A total of 20 awareness sessions covered a wide range of health topics, from infectious diseases to preventive care.

The program featured educational talks, presentations, and interactive sessions, empowering participants with knowledge to make informed health decisions. Special days such as World Malaria Day and World Ovarian Cancer Day were observed, raising awareness on specific global health challenges.
Dr. Nida, Family Medicine Specialist, emphasized, “Our goal is to improve the community’s quality of life by equipping them with the knowledge they need to make informed healthcare choices.”
These awareness sessions are part of Indus Hospital’s ongoing commitment to uplifting communities by providing free, quality healthcare services. The Family Medicine team plans to continue expanding these educational initiatives, working to address the health needs of underserved populations in Pakistan.
