When Heroes Meet Gladiators: Young Cancer Warriors Meet PSL Stars in Karachi

In a heartwarming moment filled with courage, compassion, and inspiration, six of our brave pediatric cancer patients had the unforgettable opportunity to meet their cricketing heroes at the Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi.

The gathering brought together star players from Quetta Gladiators , including Rilee Rossouw, Ben McDermott, Abrar Ahmed, Usman Tariq, and Bismillah Khan, alongside representatives from Lahore Qalandars, including team owner Sameen Rana, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Sikandar Raza .

The interaction went far beyond a formal meet-and-greet. For these young fighters, currently undergoing treatment, it was a moment filled with joy, emotional strength, and renewed hope. Meeting their sporting heroes created an uplifting experience that brought smiles, encouragement, and lifelong memories.

During this deeply emotional interaction, Sameen Rana moved everyone present with his heartfelt words for the children. With great warmth and admiration, he praised their courage, saying, “You are brave. You must never lose hope, and you must fight this battle with full strength until you win.” He then personally engaged with the young patients, expressing his profound respect for their resilience and adding, “Your bravery sets an example for all of us. You are fighting one of the toughest battles in life—and in every sense, you are the real warriors.”

Adding to the impact of the initiative, players from both teams signed bats and cricket balls during the gathering, which will be used in a special auction to raise funds for pediatric cancer treatment and care.

This meaningful engagement is part of a larger purpose-driven initiative in collaboration with Burger O’ Clock, where every boundary scored—four or six—translates into a sponsored chemotherapy session for children battling cancer. Quetta Gladiators continue to support this initiative throughout the tournament, ensuring consistent impact and sustained care for children in need.

In a special show of support, Lahore Qalandars will join this initiative for their match against Quetta Gladiators, extending the same purpose-driven effort during the game and helping amplify the message that every boundary can bring hope and healing.

More than just a meet-and-greet, this gathering became a powerful reminder that true strength lies beyond the boundary ropes. By connecting these young patients with their sporting heroes, the initiative not only created unforgettable memories but also strengthened their belief that they are not alone in this fight—because they are, indeed, the real warriors.
