GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital Celebrates One Year of Clinical Excellence

The GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital, managed by Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), celebrated a milestone as it marked its first year of clinical operations at the new Pak-China Friendship Hospital building. To commemorate this achievement, a grand anniversary ceremony was held, attended by key officials from various sectors, including the GDA, Military Medical Corps, Department of Health, media personnel, and the hospital team.

The ceremony was graced by Major General Adnan Sarwar Malik, GoC Gwadar, and Mr. Saifullah Khetran, Director General of the GDA. Other notable guests included District Health Officer Dr. Latif and Deputy District Health Officer Dr. Shahnawaz.

In his speech, Major General Adnan Sarwar Malik lauded the hospital’s impact on the region, praising both the facility and IHHN for addressing long-standing healthcare challenges and expanding services that have provided much-needed relief to the province.

Mr. Saifullah Khetran, the Director General of GDA, also emphasized the significance of the hospital, calling it a top-tier medical facility and a symbol of the strong Pak-China friendship. He further highlighted that before the hospital’s establishment, Gwadar residents had to travel to Karachi for medical care. Today, however, 90% of patients are treated locally, and emergency ambulance services have been introduced.

Dr. Affan Faiq Zada, Head of Campus and Faculty Chair, shared the hospital’s impressive progress, reporting that the facility currently offers clinical services across 11 specialties, with plans to expand into 3 more specialties in the near future. The hospital now serves nearly 1,300 patients daily, providing free check-ups, medicines, diagnostics, and meals.

Dr.Affan Faiq Zada also highlighted the hospital’s contribution to local employment and regional development, recognizing the hard work and dedication of the hospital team. He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and organizations that have supported the hospital’s continued success.

The ceremony concluded with an award ceremony, recognizing the excellence and dedication of the hospital staff. The awards celebrated the team’s commitment to providing high-quality care and exceptional service to the community.

The event was a testament to the hospital’s commitment to improving healthcare access and making a positive impact on the lives of residents in Gwadar and beyond.
