IHHN Conducts Leadership Masterclass on Navigating Net Zero Healthcare at Jubilee campus Lahore

The Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) successfully conducted its Leadership Masterclass – Navigating Net Zero IHHN at QFNST- Jubilee campus Lahore, on 3rd August 2026, reaffirming its commitment to embedding sustainability into healthcare leadership and organizational strategy.
The Masterclass brought together healthcare leaders for an immersive day of learning focused on the growing impact of climate change on healthcare systems and the critical role leaders play in driving sustainable transformation. The programme formed part of IHHN’s ongoing collaboration with the International Hospital Federation (IHF) and the Geneva Sustainability Centre (GSC) to strengthen leadership capacity for sustainable healthcare.
The event commenced with welcome remarks by Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan, followed by a recorded message from Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President, IHHN, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to sustainability as a strategic priority. Participants also received an inspiring address from Ms. Maja van Bruggen, alongside insights from Ms. Aditi Jayaram, the team Geneva Sustainability Centre (GSC) reinforcing the global importance of healthcare sustainability. The programme was further reinforced by an endorsement from Dr. Lubna Mushtaque, Chief Sustainability Officer, who emphasized the importance of leadership in embedding sustainability into healthcare systems and driving meaningful organizational change.
The Masterclass was facilitated by IHHN’s team of GSC Certified Facilitators, Mr. Abdullah Khan, Ms. Afifa Batool, Ms. Asma Mughal, Dr. M. Imran Khan, Dr. Lubna Mushtaque, Ms. Mahwish Ejaz & Mr. Rao Muhammad Abdullah.
Throughout the programme, participants explored the evolving healthcare sustainability landscape, the relationship between climate change and health systems, leadership competencies required for sustainable transformation, and practical approaches for integrating sustainability into everyday decision-making.
A key highlight of the programme was the GSC Carbon Emissions Learning Lab (CELL) simulation, enabling participants to collaboratively explore strategies for reducing healthcare-related carbon emissions through interactive decision-making exercises.
The sessions focused on translating knowledge into action by equipping leaders with practical tools to commit, integrate, collaborate, and champion sustainability initiatives within their respective organizations. Interactive group activities encouraged participants to develop actionable solutions tailored to their institutional contexts while strengthening systems thinking and collaborative leadership.
The Masterclass concluded with participants sharing their organizational commitments, identifying immediate actions they intend to implement, followed by certificate distribution and a group photograph.
