Childhood Cancer Survivors Day Celebrated at Indus Hospital & Health Network
Indus Hospital & Health Network celebrated Childhood Cancer Survivors Day to honor children who successfully battled cancer and have since grown into inspiring individuals contributing positively to society.
The event brought together patients who were treated at Indus Hospital 10 to 15 years ago. Now adults, these survivors are thriving in various fields, showcasing their talents and playing active roles in the nation’s progress.
The celebration was organized by IHHN’s Psychosocial Team in collaboration with the Department of Pediatric Oncology. The Psychosocial Team expressed immense joy and fulfillment in witnessing their former patients lead healthy, successful lives. Many of these survivors are now married and have embarked on new journeys in life.
During the event, certificates and goody bags were distributed among the guests. A large number of current pediatric cancer patients also attended the celebration to draw courage and motivation from the survivors’ stories of hope and resilience.
The Head of the Department of Pediatric Oncology, Dr. Shemuel Ashraf, graced the occasion and was presented with a token of appreciation for his outstanding services and dedication. Children also participated by sharing sketches and personal stories under the theme “Meri Himmat” (My Courage), symbolizing their strength and determination.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shemuel Ashraf highlighted that this day reflects IHHN’s commitment to not only providing quality healthcare but also ensuring emotional and social support for patients and their families — empowering them to move forward toward a brighter future.
