Indus Kay Sitaray: Celebrating Courage and Dreams at the 12th Graduation Ceremony

Indus Kay Sitaray (IKS), the hospital-based school of Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), celebrated its 12th Graduation Ceremony, honoring the remarkable achievements of long-term pediatric patients who have continued their education alongside medical treatment.

The event brought together patients, families, teachers, and IHHN staff to celebrate the courage and perseverance of 30 young graduates from across Pakistan. Dressed in blue and gold gowns, the children proudly received their certificates, report cards, and medals amidst applause and heartfelt cheers from their loved ones, healthcare providers, and teachers.

For the past seven years, Shahwilayat Public School has partnered with Indus Kay Sitaray to provide free, quality education to hospitalized children. Through this collaboration, IKS ensures that children undergoing treatment continue to learn, grow, and dream supported by dedicated educators, the psychosocial team, and the medical staff at IHHN.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President IHHN, Dr. Muhammad Shamvil Ashraf, Executive Director of Medical Services, and Dr. Muhammad Fareeduddin, Head of Pediatrics, Dr Ahmar hamid consultant Pediatric Oncology.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan said,

“These pediatric oncology patients are the future of our country. We are proud that they have continued their education while receiving treatment. Their strength and determination are truly inspiring.”

Ms. Nudrat Imam, Principal of Shahwilayat Public School, expressed her admiration, saying,

“It is deeply inspiring to see these children overcome health challenges with such resilience. Indus Kay Sitaray is not just a school—it is a family that nurtures hope, learning, and courage.”

She further shared that one of the oncology survivors is now studying at Shahwilayat Public School’s main campus, where the school bears all educational expenses. She assured parents that once their children complete their medical treatment, Shahwilayat Public School will warmly welcome them to continue their education.

The event also acknowledged Ms. Faryal Kamran, volunteer and donor of Indus Hospital & Health Network and the Founder of the Faryal Kamran Initiative, for her continued dedication and commitment to supporting young patients’ education.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt farewell to Ms. Nida Fatima, a devoted teacher at IKS, by the Psychosocial team in recognition of her valuable services.
