Launch of the Inaugural Research Newsletter: Research Insights

The Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) & the Indus University of Health Sciences (IUHS) proudly launched the first edition of its bi-annual research newsletter, Research Insights, marking a transformative step in fostering a culture of innovation, research, and knowledge sharing across the organization.

The event brought together senior leadership, faculty and contributors who played a pivotal role in achieving this milestone. The organizing committee, comprising Dr. Faridah Amir Ali, Dr. Sama Mukhtar, Dr. Muhammad Fareeduddin, Dr. Zehra Kazmi, Ms. Sara Piracha, Sayyeda Reza and Dr. Madiha Ata demonstrated exceptional dedication, setting the tone for the newsletter’s successful launch.

A Vision for Research-Driven Healthcare

Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President, IHHN took the stage, “I am immensely proud of the remarkable work of our team, and I invite everyone to join us in advancing healthcare quality for a healthier future. We have, and will continue to conduct evidence-based research that, by His grace, will contribute to the healing of our patients.”

Dr. Syed Zafar Zaidi, CEO, IHHN also addressed the audience, expressing his gratitude and vision for the future. “My sincere thanks to Dr. Sohail Rao for his instrumental guidance in developing the three-year Research Strategic Plan, and to the IHHN Communication and Publication Sub-Committee for making this milestone possible. Through this strategic direction, IHHN aims to bridge healthcare disparities in Pakistan. Research Insights highlights the impactful contributions of our team to healthcare and society. It is also important to recognize the essential role of the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) in maintaining a repository of research from IUHS and IHHN, positioning IUHS as a leader in local medical research. Moving forward, we must focus on showcasing our research globally.”

A Comprehensive Roadmap for Transforming Healthcare

Dr. Sohail Rao, Chief Scientific Officer, emphasized, “These initiatives mark a transformative step in fostering transparency, collaboration, and engagement within and beyond IHHN. Our strategic plan underscores a commitment to advancing healthcare through cutting-edge research, innovative collaboration, and evidence-based practices. Let us push boundaries, challenge norms, and redefine the role of research in improving lives.”

This inaugural edition of Research Insights represents a significant step in IHHN’s journey to address pressing health challenges in Pakistan. It introduces a comprehensive roadmap aimed at transforming organizational culture, fostering innovative collaborations, and integrating cutting-edge technologies.

The newsletter features remarkable research achievements, including 164 publications in prominent journals, with 54% involving international collaborations. It highlights

groundbreaking studies, clinical trials, grant acquisitions, and the exceptional contributions of IHHN’s researchers and clinicians.
