Noor Bano’s Relief: Malaria Care at Her Doorstep

The Sehwan Team has been busy with multiple camps running across the city. This week they conducted a Malaria Mobile Screening Camp in Village Lal Bux Jatoi where the community told them about an 80-year-old woman names Noor Bano who had not been feeling well for a few days. The CEC team’s health worker visited Noor Bano’s house and asked her a few questions, which made it evident that she might have malaria as she had a very high fever, and chills and was feeling very cold. The health worker urged her to come and get her test done at the medical mobile camp but she was so weak, Noor Banos son asked if the health worker could bring a doctor to their house so it would be easier for his mother. Upon hearing this the health worker went back and urged one of the doctors on call to come and check up on Noor Bano, once they went to her house, her test was done, and it came positive. Noor Bano was given medication and asked to come to the mobile camp a few days later when they would visit her community once again. The health worker gave her family a few instructions and guided them as to how to take care of Noor Bano. 

Her family is very grateful to the health worker, the doctor and the donors for making it possible to ensure that medical facilities are readily available even on the doorstep of those who cannot afford them, especially after the floods.
