Strength in Silence: Muhammad Faraz’s Story of Hope and Healing at Indus Hospital

Muhammad Faraz, a soft-spoken young man with tired eyes and a kind smile, lived in Korangi. He worked in the tile business to support his family, Life was simple, but stable. Until one day, illness knocked the ground out from beneath his feet.

It started with a fever that wouldn’t go away. I thought it was just fatigue. But soon, I could barely move. My father, Khalil Muhammad, rushed me to the Indus Hospital. I was weak, scared, and unsure of what was happening. That’s when the doctors told me I had typhoid.

The next few days were some of the toughest of my life. I was admitted and began treatment immediately. My father stayed by my side throughout. And so did the team at Indus. From the doctors to the nurses to the people who brought me meals, every single person made me feel like I mattered. Dr. Ghina Shamim, who led my treatment, not only helped me heal physically but also gave me hope that I would return home stronger.

Fourteen days in the hospital taught me a lot about strength. Not just my own, but the kind that exists in quiet hallways, through kind hands, steady voices, and tireless care. What touched me most? I didn’t have to worry about the cost. Everything was taken care of: medicine, tests, meals. At a time when I was helpless, Indus gave me dignity.

Today, Faraz, a healthy man working hard to support his family, is deeply grateful to the hospital and to the people whose support makes this care possible; people like you.

You didn’t just help him get better. You reminded him that no one should fight alone. Thank you for standing with patients like Faraz.
