World Pharmacists Day Celebrated at MIKD Multan and Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh

Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) observed World Pharmacists Day 2025 with celebratory events held at the Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases (MIKD) and Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH), Muzaffargarh, paying tribute to the crucial role of pharmacists in ensuring patient safety and advancing modern healthcare.

At MIKD Multan, the event was graced by Dr. Faheem Anwar (COO North, IHHN) and Ch. Amanullah, Specialized Secretary, Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education South Punjab, as Chief Guests. Distinguished guests included Dr. Syed Ali Imran Zaidi, Prof. Dr. Syed Nisar Hussain Shah, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hanif, Prof. Dr. Sohail Arshad, Dr. Nasreen Ramzan, Dr. Rauf ur Rehman, Dr. Ahmed Salman, Mr. Imran Shahzad, Dr. Muhammad Zeeshan Mazher, and Dr. Raza Ullah.
Special acknowledgment was extended to Dr. Ramisha Jalil Chaudhary, HOD Pharmacy Services, MIKD, for her dedicated efforts in successfully organizing the event.

Meanwhile, at RTEH Muzaffargarh, the celebration brought together hospital leadership and academia, including Dr. Irfan Javed (Head of Campus), Dr. Shiraz Hassan (Medical Director), and Prof. Dr. Syed Nisar Hussain Shah as Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hanif from Bahauddin Zakariya University also joined the event, commending the hospital’s continuous support for pharmacists.
Dr. Rukhsana, Head of Pharmacy Department, RTEH, presented a comprehensive report highlighting departmental achievements, cost-saving initiatives, and quality improvements. The session also featured a lighthearted skit by the pharmacy team, illustrating pharmacists’ daily interactions with patients and promoting safe medication practices.

Across both hospitals, speakers emphasized that pharmacists are not just medication experts but vital members of the healthcare team — bridging the gap between doctors and patients, ensuring rational use of medicines, and enhancing the quality of care.

The events concluded with a shared commitment to further strengthen pharmacy services across IHHN-managed hospitals and to continue recognizing pharmacists as essential partners in building healthier communities.
