Indus Hospital & Health Network Hosts Awareness Session on Hepatitis C

Indus Hospital & Health Network  commemorated World Hepatitis Day with an awareness session titled “Let’s Break it Down” on July 30, 2025. The event aimed to raise awareness about Hepatitis C — a serious liver infection caused by the Hepatitis C virus, which often spreads through unsafe injections, blood transfusions, and poor infection control practices. If left untreated, it can lead to liver damage, cirrhosis, or even liver cancer.

The session brought together healthcare professionals and public health students to discuss the burden of the disease, prevention strategies, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.

Key participants included Prof. Zafar Zaidi, Dr. Huma Qureshi, Dr. Zulfiqar Dharejo, Dr. Ihtasham Zafar, Dr. Hina Shakeel, Dr. Manzoor Hussain, Dr. Rachna Gulrajani, Dr. Hiba Ashraf, and Dr. Nida Shamsi.

Through expert talks, patient stories, and creative performances, the event highlighted the need for collective action to eliminate Hepatitis C from Pakistan.

IHHN remains committed to improving community health through education, advocacy, and free access to quality care.
