Indus Hospital & Health Network Engages Youth with Heatwave Safety and Mental Health Awareness Session at UMT Lahore

Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) conducted an impactful awareness session at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Raiwind Campus, Lahore, focusing on the crucial topics of heatwave safety and adolescent mental health.

Led by Dr. Sharjeel, Family Medicine Consultant at IHHN, the session delivered essential knowledge on heatwave prevention, safety protocols, and the growing mental health challenges faced by adolescents. He emphasized practical measures such as staying hydrated, identifying early symptoms of heat exhaustion, and maintaining emotional well-being during extreme weather conditions.

The event witnessed active participation from students of UMT’s School of Pharmacy, who engaged in meaningful dialogue by raising thoughtful questions and sharing personal perspectives.

In addition to the medical session, students were introduced to the broader mission and impact of Indus Hospital & Health Network. A dedicated segment showcased IHHN’s efforts in delivering free-of-cost, quality healthcare across Pakistan and encouraged youth to advocate for health equity.

To further promote engagement, an Indus Yaqeen Youth Ambassador Program (IYYAP) kiosk was set up on campus. Many students showed strong interest in joining the IHHN volunteer network and contributing to public health through awareness campaigns and social initiatives.

The collaboration between IHHN and UMT reflects a shared commitment to empowering youth through education and community action. The session served as a bridge between healthcare professionals and future leaders—raising awareness, sparking dialogue, and inspiring meaningful change.
