Live Surgical Demonstration on Urethroplasty at RTEH, Muzaffargarh

Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH) Muzaffargarh, in collaboration with Rahmah Health Foundation, successfully organized a One-Day Live Surgical Demonstration on Urethroplasty, hosted and arranged by the Urology Department, RTEH Muzaffargarh.

The workshop was led by Dr. Ehsan Ul Haq, Assistant Professor, Polyclinic Islamabad, an experienced urologist and the main surgeon of the event, who performed live urethroplasty surgeries, demonstrating key surgical techniques and sharing his vast experience with the participants. He was joined by Dr. Muhammad Naeem Qureshi, Consultant Urologist (Head of Urology department RTEH), who also contributed significantly to the session’s success.

Urethroplasty is a complex surgical procedure in which the affected or narrowed portion of the urinary tract is removed and the healthy ends are rejoined to restore normal urine flow. This surgery is rarely performed in South Punjab, often requiring patients to travel to distant cities such as Karachi or Islamabad for treatment.

The event marked a milestone for South Punjab, being the first-ever live urethroplasty workshop in the region, offering participants valuable hands-on learning and live OT access. The Urology Department of RTEH expressed pride in this achievement, emphasizing that their success rate in urethroplasty remains highly satisfactory.

At the conclusion of the session, shields were presented to Dr. Ehsan Ul Haq and Dr. Muhammad Naeem Qureshi and certificate of participation to all the participants in recognition of their remarkable contributions and dedication in making the event a success.

The workshop not only enhanced the professional capabilities of the local surgical teams but also reaffirmed RTEH’s commitment to bringing advanced medical expertise and specialized healthcare closer to the people of South Punjab.
