Recep Tayyip Erdogan Indus Hospital Muzaffargarh Celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Recep Tayyip Erdogan Indus Hospital Muzaffargarh, in collaboration with the Physical Rehabilitation Center and the Communication and Resource Development Department, organized a walk and cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The event aimed to promote inclusivity and encourage people with disabilities to participate fully in society. CEO Indus Hospital & Health Network (North) Dr. Shafeeq Haider, COO Dr. Muhammad Faheem Anwar, Head of Campus Dr. Irfan Javed, Medical Director Dr. Sheraz Hassan, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Gohar Nawaz Khan, Head of Operations Zia Ali Jafri, Administration Manager Usama Riaz, faculty members and support staff participated in the event.

The ceremony featured a walk and a cake-cutting ceremony by children and adults with disabilities, who have benefited from Indus Hospital’s free prosthetic limb program. These children, who had lost their limbs due to accidents or were born with polio, are now living normal lives thanks to the hospital’s support.

Dr. Shafeeq Haider, CEO Indus Hospital & Health Network (North), encouraged the children and emphasized that disability is not a weakness, but rather a strength that can inspire others in society.  Addressing the people, Dr. Faheem Anwar said that “Empowering people with disabilities is not just a social responsibility, but a moral obligation. Dr. Irfan Javed, Head of Campus, added, “We believe that every individual, regardless of their abilities, deserves to live a life with dignity and respect. We are committed to providing a supportive environment that encourages and empowers people with disabilities to reach their full potential.”

Dr. Gohar Nawaz Khan, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, highlighted Indus Hospital’s remarkable achievement in providing prosthetic limbs to over 11,000 people, enabling them to regain their mobility and independence.
