Indus Hospital & Health Network observes International Day of Persons with Disabilities with inclusive walk at Korangi Rehabilitation Centre

Indus Hospital & Health Network organized a moving ceremony and an inclusive walk at its Physical Rehabilitation Centre located on the Korangi campus to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event celebrated the courage, resilience, and rehabilitation journeys of people with disabilities and highlighted IHHN’s ongoing commitment to inclusive, free, and accessible healthcare for all.

A special inclusive walk was led by more than 55 participants living with a range of physical disabilities, many of whom use prosthetic devices. Healthcare professionals and senior leadership also took part in the walk, standing in solidarity with patients and their families.

Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of Indus Hospital, speaking at the event, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to delivering world-class, free, and accessible health services to everyone—regardless of financial or physical barriers.

Dr. Amin Chanaye, Executive Director of the Physical Rehabilitation Centre, shared the centre’s impact since its founding in 2015. He said the centre has registered over 25,000 patients and provided more than 8,000 prostheses and over 17,000 orthotic devices. These services have helped countless patients regain mobility and independence. To meet growing demand, the Korangi campus is being expanded, and rehabilitation services have been extended to R.T. Erdogan Hospital in Muzaffar Garh and the District Headquarter Hospital in Badin.

The event was attended by distinguished guests from different sectors. Participants praised Indus Hospital & Health Network’s efforts to establish inclusive health services and its commitment to fostering a fair and accessible society.
