IHHN Celebrates 160 Children’s Success in Clubfoot Treatment Through Pehla Qadam Program

Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) celebrated its annual event, “Clubfoot Se Jeet ka Jashan,” at The Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, Karachi, on January 4, 2025. The event marked the recovery of 160 children who completed their four-year treatment for clubfoot through IHHN’s Pehla Qadam Program, which has transformed the lives of 900 children since its inception.

Chief Guest, Mr. Tuaha Ahmed Faruqi, Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, commended IHHN’s efforts in providing world-class care and fostering resilience among families. Dr. Amin Chinoy, Executive Director, Physical Rehabilitation Directorate at IHHN, highlighted the program’s success in overcoming stigma and enabling children to lead normal lives.

The celebration, featuring a magic show, puppet performances, and engaging activities, also served as a platform to raise awareness about clubfoot, emphasizing its treatability with early intervention. Volunteers and team members were honored for their contributions, while children received colorful goodie bags as tokens of encouragement. Established in 2011 in collaboration with the Amer Haider Charitable Foundation, the Pehla Qadam Program uses the globally recognized Ponseti method to eliminate untreated clubfoot in Pakistan. The event reaffirmed IHHN’s commitment to transforming lives, advancing accessibility to care, and creating brighter futures for children across the country.
