Pakistan Chest Society Research Grant 2025 Awarded, A leap forward in advancing Obstructive Lung Disease Care in Pakistan

Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) proudly congratulates Dr. Madiha Siddiqui on being awarded the prestigious Pakistan Chest Society (PCS) Research Grant 2025. This national-level grant, awarded through a competitive selection process, recognizes outstanding research proposals from pulmonologists across Pakistan.

Dr. Siddiqui’s winning project will investigate chronic respiratory disease (CRD) trends and the long-term outcomes of care interventions in Pakistan. The study will be conducted under IHHN’s Obstructive Lung Disease (OLD) Program, a pioneering Primary Care Program (PCP) initiative providing integrated care for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to underserved communities across the network.

Spanning nine IHHN PCP sites, the OLD Program delivers services aimed at timely diagnosis, and holistic disease management. Through support from the PCS grant, this research will enhance understanding of asthma and COPD burden, track disease progression, and evaluate the sustained impact of interventions.

A key innovation of the project is the development of a real-time clinical data repository, powered by advanced data visualization tools. This platform will allow for dynamic monitoring of disease trends, identification of care gaps, measurement of intervention outcomes, and continuous improvement of clinical practices, all grounded in locally generated evidence.

By addressing critical gaps in Pakistan’s respiratory care landscape, the study is expected to offer valuable insights for clinicians, researchers, and public health experts. It will also set a precedent for establishing repositories for high-burden conditions like asthma and COPD.

IHHN remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing health equity through research, innovation, and high-quality care, ensuring that impactful healthcare solutions reach those who need them the most.
