Pakistan Neonatal Resuscitation Course (PNRC) Successfully Concludes in Muzaffargarh
The Pakistan Neonatal Resuscitation Course (PNRC) successfully concluded at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh.
The course, themed “Saving Newborn Lives Through Skilled Resuscitation,” brought together healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and allied health staff, to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in neonatal resuscitation. The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of healthcare providers in managing neonatal emergencies and improving survival outcomes for newborns.
The activity was organized under the leadership of Dr. Athar Razzaq, Head of Neonatology at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh, whose efforts made the successful conduct of this training possible.
The course was facilitated by a distinguished panel of neonatology experts. Prof. Khawaja Ahmed Irfan Waheed, Professor of Neonatology and Former Chairperson, Department of Neonatology, University of Child Health Sciences, The Children’s Hospital Lahore, led the sessions alongside Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar, Associate Professor of Neonatology, QAMC Bahawalpur.
Other key facilitators included Dr. Ahmed Rana, Consultant Neonatologist Pediatrician, University of Child Health Sciences, The Children’s Hospital Lahore; Dr. Mazhar Qadir Khan, Associate Professor of Neonatology, University of Child Health Sciences, The Children’s Hospital Lahore; and Dr. Ammar Haider, Senior Registrar Neonatology, University of Child Health Sciences, The Children’s Hospital Lahore.
Participants actively engaged in hands-on training sessions and practical demonstrations based on real-life clinical scenarios. The course emphasized timely intervention, teamwork, and adherence to standardized resuscitation protocols to save newborn lives.
The successful completion of this course reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen clinical skills and improve the quality of neonatal care services in South Punjab.
