New Home for Healing: Pediatric Oncology Department Relocated to Indus University Hospital’s New Building

Indus University Hospital has successfully relocated its entire Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Department, including clinics, wards, ICU, HDU, and daycare, to the newly constructed hospital building. This move marks a major milestone in the phased expansion of IHHN’s services for children with cancer.

During the relocation, a heartfelt dua was offered, asking Allah to bless the new facility and make it a source of ease and comfort for patients, their families, and staff.

The department continues to provide specialized care to children diagnosed with cancer. With the move to the new facility, patients and families will benefit from improved infrastructure, streamlined patient flow, and a more comfortable environment designed to support long-term treatment and care.

The new building features modern clinical spaces that allow medical teams to deliver high-quality, compassionate care without disruption. The relocation was carefully planned to ensure that consultations, treatments, and inpatient services continued smoothly throughout the transition.

This move is part of IHHN’s broader plan to gradually shift key services to the new building, increasing its capacity to serve a growing number of patients.

The leadership of IHHN, including President Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, Dr. Shamvil Ashraf, Consultant – Pediatric Oncology and Executive Director, and Dr. Farah Bari Khan, GM Clinical Operations, appreciated the dedication of the department’s staff and acknowledged the continued support of donors and partners who made this milestone possible.

The full Pediatric Oncology team was present for the occasion, including Dr. Sadia Muhammad, Head of Pediatric Hematology Oncology, Dr. Ahmer Hamid, Consultant – Pediatric Hematology, Dr. Ghulam Qadir, Pediatric Oncologist, Dr. Muhammad Rafie Raza, Consultant – Pediatric Oncology, and Dr. Naeem Jabbar, Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Specialist, along with the psychosocial team, Pediatric Oncology department staff, and the Medical Services Directorate.
