World Hand Hygiene Day Celebrated at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH), Muzaffargarh

Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH), Muzaffargarh observed World Hand Hygiene Day with fervor and dedication, emphasizing the critical importance of hand hygiene in preventing the spread of diseases. Led by Dr. Rashid Kamal, Head of the Infection Control Department, along with dedicated practitioners Mr. Mashkoor Hussain, Ms. Aqasa, and Sidra, the event aimed to raise awareness among the public about the significance of proper hand hygiene practices.

A stall was set up throughout the day to engage patients, visitors, and the general public, providing valuable information on the importance and techniques of hand hygiene. Dr. Irfan Javed, Head of Campus, highlighted the vital role of hand hygiene in disease prevention, stressing the need for educating children to ensure their well-being.

Dr. Sheraz Hassan, Faculty Chair, emphasized that hand hygiene forms the cornerstone of health practices and encouraged everyone to adopt this essential habit. Mr. Zia Ali, Head of Operations, underscored the Islamic perspective on cleanliness, stating that “cleanliness is half of faith,” and thus, adhering to hand hygiene aligns with religious principles.

Dr. Rashid Kamal elaborated on the benefits of practicing good hand hygiene, stressing its impact on public health. The day included practical learning sessions conducted to demonstrate proper handwashing techniques, benefiting attendees ranging from patients to their attendants and children.
