Mr. Shahid Soorty Visits Indus Hospital & Health Network, Korangi Campus, Karachi

A renowned businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Shahid Soorty is the Managing Director of Soorty Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd. – a vertically-integrated denim company that was one of the founding donors of Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN). In the fifteen years since IHHN’s inception in 2007, Mr. Soorty has heavily supported the cardiology services provided at Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, Karachi, providing countless patients in need with life-saving medical care.

During his visit to Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, Mr. Soorty toured the facility and its 85-bed pediatric oncology unit. Mr. Soorty also toured the New Hospital Building currently under construction at Korangi Campus, Karachi, and the newly inaugurated Blood Centre housed in the building.

He was accompanied by members of IHHN’s senior leadership, including Mr. Syed Shahab Akhtar, Executive Director, Projects & Facilities Directorate; Dr. Zafar Zaidi, CEO; Mr. Abdul Karim Paracha, Chairman of IHHN’s board of directors; Khalid Khanani, Director, IHHN’s board of directors; and Mr. Syed Mashhood Rizvi, Chief of Staff to the President, and Executive Director, Communications & Resource Development. 

Established in response to the overwhelming patient volumes received at the Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, Karachi, the New Hospital Building will drastically increase the service capacity and variety of services offered at IHHN’s flagship campus. Upon completion, the facility will be Pakistan’s largest hospital in the private sector, offering free-of-cost quality healthcare services to all.

Impressed by IHHN’s scale of services and wanting to further its noble cause of delivering excellence in healthcare to all, Soorty Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd. has pledged to establish a state-of-the-art Cardiology department at the New Hospital Building. In honor of this remarkable donation, the new department will be officially named “Soorty Insititute of Cardiac Services.”
