Inside iHope Batch 33: A Journey Through Compassion, Courage, and Care

We are proud to celebrate the successful completion of iHope Batch 33, a transformative week that welcomed students from leading schools across Karachi, including Alpha College, Bay View High Senior School, Beaconhouse School System, Cedar College, Dawood Public School, DHACSS College for Women Phase 8, DHACSS Phase 4, DHACSS Seaview Campus, Edopia, Foundation Public School, Generations School, Happy Palace Group of Schools, Karachi Grammar School, Reflections, The Learning Tree, The City School, Froebel Education Centre, Carleton University Ottawa Canada, Education Bay School, Karachi Public School, Whales College, Learning Alliance, Hogs A level College, Avicenna, Haque Academy, and The Lyceum joined us at the Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) to learn, grow, and serve with purpose.

The program kicked off with a warm welcome and orientation session introducing students to Pakistan’s healthcare landscape, the mission of IHHN, and the values behind the Indus Yaqeen volunteer movement. A guided hospital tour allowed students to witness the scale and spirit of free, high-quality care being provided across departments.

Throughout the week, students engaged in a wide array of skill-building and awareness sessions designed to develop both compassion and confidence. These included: CPR and First Aid Training, Firefighting Drill and Safety Preparedness, Mental Health and Wellness with Dr. Imran, Career and Interview Skills, Patient Interaction Workshops, Storytelling with Khurram Khan, Voices Against Tobacco: An urgent conversation on emerging tobacco threats among youth. Each activity was carefully curated to help participants understand the value of empathy in healthcare, the importance of advocacy, and the impact they can create through volunteerism.

The week concluded with a memorable closing ceremony, filled with heartfelt reflections, certificates, and celebration. For many, it was a defining moment, not just of completion, but of a beginning, packed with powerful and personal talk by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of IHHN. Because iHope doesn’t end after a week. It stays with you, in who you are, and who you choose to become.
