CPEM Program Celebrates 4th Graduation Ceremony!

IHHN’s CPEM program celebrated its 4th Graduation Ceremony on 20^th December 2023, to acknowledge the hard work and achievement of its 2023 graduates. Certificate Program in Emergency Medicine (CPEM) is a 12-month competency-based training initiative, crafted to empower physicians working in the Emergency Department with the essential knowledge and clinical expertise required to excel in emergency care. CPEM is a collaborative effort of Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) and the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

The event commenced by recitation from the Holy Quran. This was followed by a warm welcome message by former coordinator Dr. Muhammad Bilal Hasaan. Dr. Megan Rybarzyck of University of Pennsylvania and CPEM’s Academic Faculty Lead offered a retrospective look by presenting a Year in Review.

Dr. Anna Yaffee from Emory University addressed the audience. This was followed by recording of Dr. Priya Arumugathan, University of Pennsylvania, and Dr. Adolfo Savia, Pilar’s Central Hospital, Argentina. Other speakers included Dr. Sama Mukhtar, Program Director, CPEM.

Also in attendance were several key leadership figures from IHHN. Dr. Ashar Alam, Medical Director, IHHN, motivated the graduates to become champions of emergency medicine. Dr. Muhammad Shamvil Ashraf, Executive Director, Medical Services, IHHN, spoke about CPEM’s impact on IHHN and finally Dr. Zafar Zaidi, CEO of IHHN, shared his thoughts on CPEM’s global partnerships.

Dr. Adeel Khatri gave acknowledgement to IHHN’s supporting partners at EB Medicine, Fullcode, Affinity, Trade Vision / MindRay / Friends Trader, MITE University, Emory University, University of Pennsylvania and Indus Hospital & Health Network

Dr. Syed Ghazanfar Saleem, Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Dr. Saima Ali, Head of Department of Emergency Medicine gave closing remarks. The Graduating class were given Letters of Completion.
