Indus University Hospital Karachi achieves International Recognition as AO Trauma Fellowship Host Center

In a momentous achievement, Indus University Hospital Karachi has officially been re-certified as an AO Trauma International Fellowship Host Center, a designation that underscores its commitment to medical excellence and global collaboration. This certification, valid for three years till 2027, signifies IHHN’s readiness to serve as a host institution for AO Fellows, contributing to the development of advanced surgical skills and fostering international exchange in Orthopaedic training.

We are especially proud of Prof. Syed Kamran Ahmed, Chair Surgery and Allied Services and Incharge of AO Trauma Fellows at Indus University Hospital, Karachi, who played a pivotal role in this achievement. His dedication and leadership have been instrumental in aligning IHHN with global orthopedic standards and advancing its mission of providing top-tier medical education and trauma care.

The AO Foundation Switzerland has provided a comprehensive set of guidelines for the fellowship program, ensuring clarity on the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders. Dr. Syed Kamran Ahmed, Chair Surgery and Professor Orthopedics & Traumatology at Indus University Hospital, Karachi was invited as international faculty at AO Trauma Masters Course Upper extremity, Elbow to Wrist with human anatomical specimens, held at Davos, Switzerland from December 01-06, 2024.

The course was one of the many prestigious courses held at Davos annually, where international experts and opinion leaders from across the globe gather to deliver education and share their experiences with the course participants.
