IHHN’s 6th Corporate Cricket Championship Islamabad Leg Concludes with Cheezious Crowned Champions
The Indus Hospital & Health Network successfully concluded the Islamabad leg of its 6th Corporate Cricket Championship 2026 on September 13, 2026, following two days of exciting corporate cricket at Shalimar Cricket Ground, F-6, Islamabad. The two-day tournament brought together leading corporate organizations, combining competitive sport with a shared commitment to supporting children affected by cancer.
The Islamabad leg was held on September 12 and 13, 2026, as part of IHHN’s five-city fundraising series in support of its Pediatric Hematology & Oncology services. The championship provided a meaningful platform for corporate organizations to come together through sport and contribute to a cause aimed at supporting children and families facing the challenges of childhood cancer.
The tournament featured eight participating teams, including Evamp & Saanga, OGDCL, Mari Energies, Cheezious, LDS, Meezan Bank, Samba Bank Limited and Media XI . The teams competed with enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and determination throughout the two-day championship, showcasing strong performances in batting, bowling, and fielding.
The Islamabad leg also highlighted the role of corporate social responsibility in supporting healthcare initiatives. Through their participation and support, the participating organizations demonstrated how corporate engagement and collective action can contribute to creating hope and positive change in the lives of children affected by cancer and their families.
After a series of competitive matches, Cheezious emerged as the champions, displaying an impressive performance throughout the tournament. Evamp & Saanga secured the runner-up position after a strong showing in the championship. Waqar from Cheezious was named Player of the Tournament, while Sharukh was awarded Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest and Executive Director CRD Tariq Azam said that the championship reflected a strong spirit of compassion and collective responsibility towards children affected by cancer.
“An environment of compassion and humanity has been created, and this cricket tournament has spread a message of happiness, hope, and collective joy for our future generations. Children fighting cancer have every right to live a happy and healthy life,” said the Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest further highlighted that the championship reinforced IHHN’s commitment to ensuring equitable and quality healthcare for all, while demonstrating how collaboration among corporate organizations can help create hope and bring lasting positive change to the lives of children affected by cancer and their families.
The Islamabad leg of the Corporate Cricket Championship also demonstrated that sport can serve as more than a platform for competition.
