IHHN and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Collaborate to Enhance Respiratory Care
Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Pakistan (Private) Limited to enhance respiratory care across IHHN’s facilities. This partnership aims to equip healthcare professionals with advanced skills and knowledge, ultimately improving patient outcomes in critical care.
A key component of this collaboration is the launch of a “Train the Trainer” program, which will strengthen IHHN’s internal training capabilities in respiratory care. Through this initiative, IHHN’s trainers will gain specialized expertise, enabling them to educate their peers across multiple disciplines, including medicine, nursing, respiratory therapy, and biomedical engineering. By fostering continuous professional development, the program will enhance patient care within IHHN’s Intensive Care Units (ICUs) while establishing a sustainable knowledge-sharing model among healthcare professionals.
Mr. Nigel Fealy, who currently serves as a clinical and research consultant for F&P Healthcare and a Clinical Specialist in Intensive Care at Austin Health in Melbourne, Australia, has made significant contributions to the success of this MoU signing. His involvement has been crucial in designing the course outline and curriculum for the “Train the Trainer” program, ensuring that it meets international standards and effectively enhances the expertise of healthcare professionals at IHHN
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both organizations. On behalf of IHHN, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President, Dr. Syed Zafar Zaidi, CEO, Dr. Ashar Alam, Medical Director, The Indus Hospital, and Dr. Fivzia Farooq, Chair of Medicine were present, along with Dr. Komal Baloch, Dr. Muhammad Sarfaraz Alam, and Dr. Sajeer Bhura, consultants from the Critical Care Unit. The event also welcomed Masood Ahmed, CEO of Hospice Care Systems.
This collaboration underscores IHHN’s commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare in Pakistan. By enhancing respiratory care training and fostering knowledge-sharing among healthcare professionals, this partnership will contribute to better patient outcomes and long-term improvements in critical care services.
