IHHN Operationalizes First Hub & Spoke Model of Centralized Blood Banking in Pakistan

The operationalization of the Hospital Blood Bank Mithi, Tharparkar, completes the first hub & spoke model of centralized blood banking in Pakistan, as originally planned in the Phase 1 of Safe Blood Transfusion Programme of Pakistan. It connects 7 hospital blood banks — LUMHS, Hyderabad, Thatta, Matiari, Mirpurkhas, Badin, and Mithi — to the Regional Blood Center Jamshoro serving 3, 624 beds in the public sector hospitals. The Public–Private Partnership between the Government of Sindh and IHHN, underscores a shared commitment to saving lives through reliable and safe blood transfusion services.
