IHHN Celebrates Women Changemakers at Annual i-Inspire Ambassadors Recognition Event
Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) hosted its annual i-Inspire Women Ambassadors Recognition Event at a local hotel in Karachi, honoring the dedication and impact of women who are leading positive change through philanthropy and volunteerism. Since its inception in 2021, the i-Inspire initiative has built a powerful community of more than 100 women committed to championing IHHN’s vision of providing free, quality healthcare to all.
The evening brought together IHHN leadership, i-Inspire members, and supporters of the cause. Notable attendees included Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President, IHHN; Syed Mashhood Rizvi, Executive Director, CRD Pakistan; Mr. Tariq Azam, Executive Director, CRD North; Dr. Farah Bari, GM Operations IHHN Karachi and Head of Campus, Sheikh Saeed Memorial Campus; Dr. Amber Rashid, Board Member, IHHN; Afifa Batool, Head of Marketing & Communications, IHHN; and Bushra Ansari, renowned actress, comedian and IHHN’s ambassador. Their presence reflected IHHN’s unwavering commitment to empowering women-led initiatives that are transforming communities.
A highlight of the evening was a panel discussion moderated by Madiha Rehman, Lead Corporate & Digital Communications, IHHN. The panel consisted of four remarkable women sharing their journeys of service, resilience, and impact. Sonia Kureshi, fundraiser and community mobilizer, spoke about turning simple ideas into life-saving impact. Begum Shahnaz Wazir Ali, educationist and healthcare advocate, reflected on her lifelong commitment to social justice, highlighting how the Lady Health Worker program she pioneered has grown from 10,000 to 140,000 women transforming healthcare access across Pakistan. Sania Saeed, actor and social change champion, shared how her early experiences of volunteering shaped her understanding of giving back and how empathy, storytelling, and consistent effort can create lasting change. Yasmeen Dadabhoy, entrepreneur and philanthropist, emphasized the importance of linking enterprise with social responsibility, channeling business and leadership into community development. Together, they discussed the roots of philanthropy with the machinations of corporate giving and institutional trusts and the importance of everyday acts of volunteering. Noting that while men’s contributions are often more visible, women’s time, labor, and nurturing values create unique and powerful impact. They reminded the audience that barriers remain, particularly in the recognition of women’s efforts, but urged young women not to underestimate their role: even the smallest gesture of kindness, time, or energy can ripple into profound change. Their collective message was clear: when women step forward with heart and purpose, they not only uplift individuals but also transform entire communities. Their stories reinforced the spirit of collaboration and resilience that defines the i-Inspire community.
The evening also featured a captivating performance by Zambeel Dramatic Readings, a group renowned for blending the timeless art of storytelling with the evocative style of radio plays. Through their powerful voices and expressive recitations, Asma Mundrawala, Saife Hasan, Shama Askari, and Kiran Ahmed transported the audience across eras and emotions, making words come alive in a way that was both fearless and soulful. The performance added depth and cultural richness to the celebration, reminding attendees of the enduring power of stories to inspire change.
The event concluded with final remarks by Dr. Amber Rashid, a member of the board of directors of IHHN, who applauded the ambassadors for their invaluable contributions.
“The i-Inspire program reflects the power of women to transform society. Each of our ambassadors is not just supporting healthcare, but also inspiring others to believe in a healthier, more equitable Pakistan. Their passion and leadership are at the heart of IHHN’s mission,” said Dr. Ambar Rashid.
As an annual tradition, the i-Inspire recognition evening continues to celebrate the women who, through their generosity and leadership, bring hope and healing to millions of patients at IHHN. The event reaffirmed IHHN’s belief that empowering women is essential to building healthier communities and ensuring healthcare for all
