Helping Babies Breathe: A Specialized Training by NICU at RTEH for Nursing Students of Islamia University Bahawalpur

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Muzaffargarh conducted a specialized Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) training session for nursing students of Islamia University Bahawalpur. This initiative aimed to equip participants with essential neonatal resuscitation techniques to ensure better newborn care and survival.

The training was overseen by Dr. Athar Razaq and Dr. Ijaz Hussain, who not only guided the students but also provided hands-on demonstrations of HBB techniques. During the inaugural session, Dr. Fayyaz Ahmed and Dr. Faisal Usman encouraged the students, highlighting the scope of the nursing field. They emphasized that nursing is not only a profession that fulfills economic needs but also a noble act of serving humanity.

At the conclusion of the training, the Medical Director of RTEH, Dr. Shiraz Hassan, awarded certificates to the students. In his address, he expressed pride in RTEH’s commitment to skill development, saying, “Through initiatives like these, Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital plays a vital role in empowering students with life-saving skills, contributing to society, and serving as a perpetual source of goodwill.”
