Health Minister of Balochistan, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Highlights Commitment to Expanding Facilities at Sui Hospital

Communities in Sui received renewed hope for improved healthcare as Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Health Minister of Balochistan, along with Dr. Zafar Zaidi, CEO Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), visited Public Welfare Hospital to assess services and address local concerns. The visit was also joined by Mujeeb ur Rehman, Secretary Health; Amin Khan Mandokhail, Director General Health; Mr. Khalid Shah, Deputy Commissioner Dera Bugti; and other district dignitaries. Head of Sui Campus, Mr. Nosherwani, welcomed the delegation and provided a detailed briefing on hospital operations, service gaps, and plans for strengthening care delivery.

During the visit, the delegation toured hospital departments, engaged with patients, and heard community concerns directly. Later, a Jirga was convened with local leaders and notable personalities to ensure that community voices shaped the hospital’s future. Participants highlighted the urgent need for essential medicines, a fully functional laboratory, and advanced diagnostic facilities such as CT scans.

The Health Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing services at Public Welfare Hospital, Sui. He directed the immediate recruitment of specialist doctors, expansion of nursing staff with improved salaries, and the establishment of 24/7 pharmacy services integrated with HMIS. Dr. Zafar Zaidi assured the community that IHHN would move forward with hiring technical staff, strengthening medicine supply chains, and upgrading laboratory services. He emphasized IHHN’s mission to provide quality, accessible healthcare and pledged close coordination with government stakeholders to ensure the hospital continues to meet the needs of the people of Dera Bugti.
