Gwadar Marks a New Era in Gastrointestinal Care with Launch of Endoscopy Services

Marking two years of operational excellence, the GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital, managed by Indus Hospital & Health Network continues to strengthen its clinical services with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Endoscopy Unit. This milestone follows the recent establishment of the hospital’s Gastroenterology Department, reinforcing its commitment to delivering comprehensive and high-quality healthcare services in the region.

The Endoscopy Unit was formally inaugurated by Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Gwadar. In his address, he described the facility as a long-awaited and impactful addition for the people of Gwadar and surrounding districts. He noted that access to advanced endoscopic services will significantly reduce the burden on patients who previously had to travel to distant urban centers such as Karachi for essential diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

He further appreciated the continued expansion of services at the hospital and offered prayers for the facility to serve as a source of healing and relief for the community.

During his visit, the MPA toured the newly established wards and interacted with patients. He reviewed the availability and quality of medical care, medicines, and dietary services. Patients expressed satisfaction with the standards of care being provided at the hospital.

Reflecting on the occasion, Dr. Affan Faiq Zada, Head of Campus, stated,
“Today represents both a reflection of our journey and a reaffirmation of our commitment. Two years ago, our team initiated services in this facility with the first OPD, driven by purpose and resilience. The inauguration of endoscopy services on this same day is not just symbolic—it signifies a deliberate progression toward advanced, patient-centered care. For the first time in Gwadar’s history, such specialized services are now available locally, and we remain committed to further strengthening access and quality in the region.”

The ceremony was attended by senior officials and key stakeholders, including Chief Engineer GDA Haji Syed Muhammad, Director Administration GDA Changaiz Khan, District Health Officer Gwadar Dr. Yasir Tahir Baloch, Public Relations Officer GDA Hafeez Sheeran, Faculty Chair and Consultant Urologist Dr. Zafarullah Baloch, along with members of the hospital team and representatives from the local community.

This latest development reflects IHHN’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to specialized healthcare services in underserved regions, ensuring that quality care is available closer to home.
