IHHN Strengthens ESG Commitment Through Masterclass Led by Certified Sustainability Facilitators

Building on its commitment to integrating sustainability across healthcare operations, Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) successfully conducted an ESG Masterclass for Leadership – Navigating Net Zero for more than 40 participants representing a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical departments by IHHN’s first cohort of Geneva Sustainability Centre (GSC) Certified Facilitators, Mr. Abdullah Khan, Ms. Afifa Batool, Ms. Asma Mughal, Dr. Lubna Mushtaq, Ms. Mahwish Ejaz, Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan, and Mr. Rao Muhammad Abdullah, who recently completed the prestigious GSC Certified Facilitator Program and were formally recognized by the network for their achievement. The masterclass reflects IHHN’s ongoing commitment to building internal capacity and fostering a culture of sustainability throughout the organization.

The training marked an important milestone in IHHN’s sustainability journey, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to cascading knowledge and building internal capacity for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices. Participants from various departments came together to explore the growing importance of sustainability in healthcare and the role each individual as a leader in creating long-term positive impact.

Through interactive discussions and practical learning exercises, attendees were introduced to key ESG concepts, sustainable healthcare principles, climate-related challenges facing the health sector, and opportunities to integrate sustainability into everyday operations. The facilitators shared insights gained through the Geneva Sustainability Centre program and encouraged participants to adopt a collaborative approach toward environmental stewardship and responsible healthcare delivery.

Dr. Syed Zafar Zaidi, CEO IHHN, also graced the session and emphasized that healthcare extends beyond treating illness, focusing equally on protecting people, communities, and the planet. Aligning with IHHN’s vision of building a healthier and more sustainable future, he highlighted that sustainability is not just an obligation but a responsibility, and encouraged participants to commit for sustainable practices, integrate environmental stewardship into everyday decisions, and collaborate across teams to drive meaningful change and create a lasting positive impact.
