CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah Visits Indus Hospital Karachi to Review Expansion Progress

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah visited the under-construction Indus Hospital at Korangi Crossing, established through a collaboration between the Sindh government and Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN). The hospital is set to be inaugurated soon, further strengthening Karachi’s healthcare infrastructure.

IHHN Board Chairman Abdul Karim Paracha, Chairman of the Resource Generation Committee Salim Razak Tabani, Board of Directors members Khalid Khanani, President Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, CEO Dr. Syed Zafar Zaidi, Executive Directors Dr. Muhammad Amin Chinoy, Dr. Muhammad Shamvil Ashraf, Syed Shahab Akhtar, and Syed Mashhood Rizvi welcomed the Chief Minister upon his arrival.

During his visit, CM Murad Ali Shah toured various sections of the hospital, including the Adult Wards, Operating Rooms, Surgical ICUs, Family Medicine Clinics, Consultant Clinics, Tele-Emergency, Emergency Wards, and the Blood Centre. Dr. Bari briefed the CM on the hospital’s progress, noting that a 90-bed emergency department has been launched in the first phase, with plans to expand the hospital’s capacity to 1,380 beds in the near future.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of this project, stating that the Korangi Indus Hospital would provide free treatment to patients, ensuring access to quality healthcare for all. He further announced plans to construct a separate Mother and Child Block at Badin Hospital, which is also managed by IHHN.

Dr. Abdul Bari khan highlighted that the Korangi Indus Hospital would operate as a fully paperless facility and feature specialized wards for neurosciences and adult oncology. He acknowledged the Sindh government’s support in making this project a reality.

The Chief Minister also reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Sindh’s healthcare system and promoting nursing as a vital profession, encouraging more young individuals to pursue careers in the field
