CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah Pays Tribute as KATI Recognizes Dr. Abdul Bari Khan’s Outstanding Contributions to Pakistan’s Healthcare Sector
Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah lauded the remarkable contributions of Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, Founder President & CEO of the Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), to Pakistan’s healthcare sector during a ceremony organized by the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) in his honor.
The ceremony, held at the KATI Headquarters, recognized Dr. Abdul Bari Khan’s lifelong dedication to providing free, high-quality healthcare and his transformative role in strengthening Pakistan’s healthcare system. Upon his arrival, the Chief Minister was warmly received by KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput, office bearers, and members. The event was attended by Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani, Government Spokesperson Nadir Gabol, Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho, industrialists, business leaders, senior government officials, and other distinguished guests.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the long-standing partnership between the Government of Sindh and the Indus Hospital & Health Network, describing it as one of Pakistan’s most successful public-private healthcare collaborations.
“Dr. Abdul Bari Khan once invited me to visit the Indus Hospital. After witnessing the extraordinary work being carried out there, we began a partnership that has today become one of the country’s most successful examples of public-private collaboration in the healthcare sector,” he said.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Government of Sindh is not merely a financial supporter of IHHN but a committed partner in expanding access to quality healthcare.
“We are working with sincerity and commitment alongside our healthcare and development partners, and the positive outcomes of this public-private partnership are now benefiting millions of people,” he said.
He added that the partnership extends beyond Karachi to Badin and other underserved districts, with a shared commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare reaches every citizen, regardless of where they live.
Speaking about public service, the Chief Minister reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people with honesty and dedication.
“Public service remains my highest priority, and I will continue to fulfill this responsibility with unwavering commitment,” he remarked.
Paying tribute to Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, the Chief Minister praised his lifelong services to public health and acknowledged the impact of IHHN in transforming countless lives through free, high-quality healthcare.
“Dr. Abdul Bari Khan’s services to public health are extraordinary. Through the Indus Hospital & Health Network, he has transformed countless lives by providing high-quality healthcare services,” he said, adding that the organization’s model of compassionate, free healthcare stands as an example of service and excellence.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan thanked KATI and the Government of Sindh for the recognition.
“It is both a privilege and a blessing for me to serve humanity through healthcare,” he said.
Dr. Abdul Bari Khan noted that the Indus Hospital & Health Network now delivers healthcare services across Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan, while acknowledging the Government of Sindh as the Network’s largest partner.
“With the government’s support, we have significantly expanded our services and have been able to reach many more patients across the country,” he said.
He further shared that the Government of Sindh’s continued support has enabled the Indus Hospital & Health Network to substantially expand its healthcare services and provide quality medical care to millions of people across the country.
The ceremony concluded with participants paying tribute to Dr. Abdul Bari Khan’s exceptional contributions to Pakistan’s healthcare sector and reaffirming the importance of strong collaboration between the government, industry, and the social sector to improve public welfare and strengthen healthcare delivery across Sindh and beyond.
