GDA Pak China Friendship Hospital Launches Blood Bank Services to Strengthen Healthcare in Gwadar
Gwadar – January 23, 2025: The GDA Pak China Friendship Hospital, managed by Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of Blood Bank Services by the Director General of GDA, Mr. Shafqat Anwar Shahwani. This initiative is a crucial step toward expanding medical services in Gwadar. The event also featured a blood donation camp that saw an overwhelming response from the community.
Equipped with a state-of-the-art Cryofuge machine, the Blood Bank will now separate and provide specific blood components to patients as per medical needs. This advancement will benefit individuals suffering from trauma, childbirth complications, liver conditions, and blood and bone marrow disorders.
During the event, the Head of Campus, Dr. Affan Faiq Zada, provided a detailed and impactful briefing to Mr. Shafqat Anwar Shahwani and other dignitaries. The briefing emphasized the critical role of blood donation in saving lives and enhancing community health. Dr. Afshan Khattak (Consultant & HOD Clinical Lab & Blood Bank), Dr. Muhammad Arsalan (Consultant Internal Medicine), Mr. Nadil Ali Baloch (Deputy Manager Administration), and Mr. Abdullah Baloch (PRO GDA PCFH) were also present to support this initiative.
Addressing the gathering, the Director General of GDA highlighted the importance of such initiatives, noting that blood donation is a life-saving act that fosters community unity and solidarity.
The campaign witnessed active participation from the local community, including members of the Gwadar Press Club, who supported the event by donating blood. The hospital administration expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, particularly the journalists, for their contribution and presence at the event.
