Dr. Ayesha Saeed Begins Term as Chair of AO Trauma MENA Research Committee

Karachi | 20-23rd September — Dr. Ayesha Saeed, Consultant Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at The Indus Hospital & Health Network, has begun her term as Chair of the AO Trauma MENA Research Committee, marking an important milestone for trauma research and collaboration across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. She recently represented the region at the AO Trauma Research Board Meeting held in Madrid from September 20–23, 2025, where global leaders gathered to discuss the future of trauma research and innovation. Building on the success of the recent joint AO Trauma commission, which fostered meaningful collaborations and knowledge exchange, Dr. Ayesha Saeed aims to strengthen the MENA research ecosystem through multidisciplinary studies, mentorship programs, and regionally relevant clinical trials. Reflecting on her new role, Dr. Ayesha Saeed stated, “Starting my term as Chair of the AO Trauma MENA Research Committee is both an honour and a learning opportunity. There’s so much to explore and plan for the future of the MENA research ecosystem. The joint AO Trauma commission was a wonderful experience that strengthened collaboration across the region.
