RTEH Celebrates International Day of People with Disability 2023

Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital (RTEH) in Muzaffargarh marked the International Day of People with Disability with an event organized by the Physical Rehabilitation Center of the hospital and Communication and Resource Development Directorate. The event brought together individuals with disabilities, their families, doctors, administrative staff, and rehabilitation professionals. 

Dr. Irfan Javed, Campus Head, delivered an inspiring address, highlighting that disability should never hinder one’s journey. He motivated patients in the audience, emphasizing that their future isn’t defined by their disability but by their determination and potential. Dr. Javed also commended the relentless efforts of the Physical Rehabilitation Department’s staff, acknowledging their hard work and dedication in ensuring the well-being of their patients.

Notably, the Physical Rehabilitation Center in RTEH is the only one in South Punjab that provides artificial limbs free of cost.

The event concluded with a heartwarming commemorative walk, where recovering patients showcased their resilience by taking confident steps, proving that they are not disabled but instead possess unique abilities.

Various health professionals participated in the event including Dr. Mazhar Memon, Urologist; Osama Riaz, Administration Manager; Kashif Bukhari, Deputy Manager Administration; Mujahid Hussain, Assistant Manager Clinical Affairs; Mazhar Abbas, Incharge Media Relation, CRD. Muhammad Azam, Assistant Manager of the Rehabilitation Department, played a pivotal role in uplifting the spirits of the patients throughout the day, continuously motivating and encouraging them.

This celebration stood as a testament to RTEH’s commitment to inclusivity and support for individuals with disabilities, fostering an environment where abilities are celebrated, and barriers are shattered.
