WHO–ICRC BEC Course Organized by Emergency Department of IHHN

The Emergency Department recently organized the WHO-ICRC Basic Emergency Care (BEC) Course at the IHHN Korangi Campus, catering to participants from Emergency Medicine (EM) and Family Medicine (FM). This significant event saw the training of 26 participants, consisting of physicians, nurses, and nursing aids from both FM and EM departments.

In a testament to its ongoing success, this course celebrated its 6th iteration. What’s remarkable is that it didn’t just stay in Karachi; it also extended its reach to the Jubilee Town campus in Lahore and RTEH, Muzaffargarh campus. This extensive journey has yielded three master trainers, empowered 60 dedicated trainers, and imparted essential knowledge to over 110 participants in these regions.

This approach is like creating a web of support. It allows local communities to learn how to save lives in emergencies, which is a big deal. It’s all about making sure that everyone can get the critical care they need when they need it.
