Strengthening Emergency Response: Training on Rabies Prevention & Management for Rescue-1122
The Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) conducted a comprehensive training session on Rabies Prevention & Management for the Rescue-1122 Control & Command Center at Indus University Hospital, Karachi. The session aimed to enhance the capacity of emergency response teams in effectively managing rabies and dog-bite cases.
Participants from the Karachi Division attended the session in person, while teams from Hyderabad and Sukkur divisions joined virtually, ensuring wider outreach and knowledge dissemination across multiple regions.
The training focused on key aspects of rabies prevention, including early risk assessment, immediate wound care, timely referral, and awareness of post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). Emphasis was placed on the critical role of first responders in reducing delays and ensuring that patients receive appropriate care without compromise.
This initiative reflects IHHN’s continued commitment to strengthening public health systems through targeted training and capacity building, ensuring that life-saving knowledge reaches those at the frontline of emergency care.
