Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Inaugurates New Diagnostic Block at GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital

Gwadar: The GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital, managed by Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new diagnostic block by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, on January 27, 2026.

Dr. Affan Faiq Zada, Head of Campus, briefed the Federal Minister on the hospital’s operations, highlighting that it provides free modern medical facilities to 1,100–1,200 patients daily. Services include free medicines, laboratory tests, radiology services, and meals for in-patients. He also shared future plans for the hospital, including expansion, the establishment of a medical and nursing college, and the development of specialized departments.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) extends beyond infrastructure to human development, health, and education. He noted that the GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital exemplifies this vision in practice.

The hospital has become a modern and reliable healthcare center for Gwadar and the Makran Division and symbolizes the enduring friendship, cooperation, and public welfare between Pakistan and China. The Minister lauded the hospital’s high-quality medical facilities, efficient management, and patient-centered services, remarking that providing world-class health care in a remote area like Gwadar is a commendable initiative. He expressed hope that the hospital would continue to serve the public with the same dedication.

The inauguration was attended by Provincial Health Minister of Balochistan Bakht Muhammad Kakar, MNA from Kech & Gwadar Haji Malik Shah Gorgaij, DG Gwadar Development Authority Moin-ur-Rehman Khan, Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Naqeebullah Kakar, and other dignitaries.

The GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital continues to reinforce Indus Hospital & Health Network’s commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare across Pakistan, particularly in underserved and remote regions.
